Teach a section of Critical Studies focusing on Contracts and Evidence, with the goal of preparing students for the California Bar Exam. Course emphasis is on improving legal analysis and writing.                                         

2003 – present         CONSULTANT: STANFORD LAW SCHOOL
                               Palo Alto, California

Act to facilitate the legal thought process via individual counseling sessions that focus on substantive law analysis as well as personal issues relevant to academic success. Provide additional tutoring support for Legal Research and Writing.

 

2002 – present         CO-FOUNDER/ACADEMIC COACH: LAWTUTORIAL.COM
                                          Menlo Park, San Carlos, and Richmond, California

Provide customized individual tutoring services for law school and the California bar exam. Focus on developing student’s legal and factual analysis, exam-taking approaches, and exam writing skills. Tutoring support for essays, multiple choice exam, and performance exams.  Offer academic coaching for non-analytical factors that affect exam performance.

Managed a program for over 150 students. Supervised and trained 20 Session Leaders annually. Worked individually with 30+ at risk 1st year students to improve their legal writing and analysis skills. Supervised a staff of five. Met with constituents concerning current local issues. Worked closely with legal staff in drafting, analyzing and directing bills through the legislative process. Drafted Finance Committee reports and was responsible for all committee matters related to the City budget.

Supervised and scheduled study sessions. Advised students about class schedules. Tutored students individually and counseled them concerning academic and personal problems. Acted as liaison between the Program and various minority students groups, faculty and administration. Also responsible for compilation and analysis of statistical data relating to student attendance and grades.

 

Summer 1990            LEGAL WRITING INSTRUCTOR

Taught legal analysis and exam writing skills to a class of 17 disadvantaged students. Evaluated students’ ability to identify and apply appropriate rules to relevant facts.
